It also tends to be less crowded, making it the perfect setting for families who want a relaxed, intimate experience. The McClerney family of five embraced this space beautifully. Their session was filled with movement, connection, and even a special guest—their sweet pup, who joined for a few frames, adding to the perfectly imperfect moments that make family photography so special.

When creating imagery for families, I hope to tell their story. I hope that what I create allows the viewer to go back in time for a moment, relishing in the sentiment of that chapter of his/her life , as a way to still hold onto it, in a sense. We all know time can be a fleeting thing but creating imagery that reflects the stage of life you are in now , allows you to re-live that beautiful moment again later. Photographs are what keep us connected ; reminding us of people, places, feelings, and stories.

Whether its remembering as a child how you flew high in the air when dad jumped on the trampoline with you, the nostalgia of moms scent when you cuddled up beside her with a book, or the sound of notes on the piano playing in the house with your fur-babies crowding around your feet; all of it encompasses a part of your story, a sliver of their childhood . Photographs are a way to savor that. Reminds me of my fav quote ; “You never know the value of a photograph, until its all you have left“. Ain’t that the truth though? Something to ponder when considering whether to take the picture or be in the picture. ;)
