Had the pleasure of capturing this gorgeous little family again, last time it was when this little guy had just made his debut to the world, now 6 months later. Isn’t he the cutest?! I never take for granted when clients return for another session with me, it’s always such an honor and compliment that they chose me again amongst all the other thousands of photogs in OC . For this open fields rolling hills family session, we roamed the area , played & cuddled. Their love was contagious, and I was soaking up the sun flare beaming between them as they connected.
We were also able to jump grandma in a few photos toward the end of the session, which is always a treat. You’ll never regret documenting the generations, its such a special thing.

Growing families are the best. Watching this sweet boy become a big brother and capturing his sense of curiosity and wonder made for some amazing photos in this Newborn Lifestyle Session. This family of three , now four, welcomed their sweet baby girl, who photographed beautifully in all those natural tones that their Orange County Home had to offer. This big brother and his beautiful green eyes just lit up at the sight of his sister. Photographing siblings is always so special, it's always great when I can capture their new growing bond. This is what dream in-home Family Sessions are made of.
The Epler family were a delight in front of the lens, not only is this mammma stunning, but sharing the spotlight with her adorable boy and sweet husband was extra special. Maternity sessions are always special to me, their is something so beautiful about photographing expectant mothers, their glow, and their sweet growing bump and expanding family.... This Sunset Beach spot was perfect for this family session as I was able to capture them with the perfect beach weather that also highlights that open seaside brush on the pathway walking down. With all the wonderful Orange County photography locations its hard not to make this one a favorite, with its diverse scenery.

The Bing Family Mommy and Me Session was one of the sweetest I have done to date. As a local to Orange County, Huntington Beach is one of my favorite Orange County Beach locations. Watching this mom of boys chase them around the beach made it really easy to capture the sweet motherhood moments. Often moms are the one taking the photos, trying to capture moments of their children instead of moments with them. Motherhood Sessions, just like family sessions, allow for those intimate moments that we often experience to be captured.

As an Orange County Family photographer I alway strive to find the perfect location for family sessions, locations that allow for great scenery, and also allow for children to run and play which really allow me to capture those candid family moments. Newport Beach is one of my favorite locations to do family beach sessions, and the O'Brien Family was so much fun to work with. Their beach Family Session really allowed me to capture the perfect sunset photos with their children.
I love in-home sessions that include bed jumping, tickling, choo-choo trains and giggles! Nothing makes me love a session more than capturing the everyday real stuff!

I’m excited to share this gorgeous Santa Barbara Family Session on the BLOG with you guys! This mamma is a fellow photographer (of Jennifer Kulakowski Photography) who traveled from Washington DC and asked me to document her sweet family while vacationing here! I have to admit its always nerve wracking shooting other photogs in the industry but this mammas is too sweet for words and her adorable (and incredibly photogenic) family made my job super easy! We had gorgeous sunset light and the entire stretch of beach to ourselves this night , it was a perfect evening for a family session!
So I’m incredibly behind on blogging guys! I have quite a few fresh new sessions hitting the blog soon though!
This Shaw’s Cove Laguna Beach Session had that soft dreamy sunset light that I just love! The Dowden’s Family came all the way from Indiana to visit our California beaches and I swear they look like Californians, don’t they? Little miss Emily (age 2yr) is about to be a BIG sister! She was full of many expressions and excitement which made it such a joy to capture her! Not to forget to mention her adorable little boho dress her mamma managed to find for our session, I mean how cute are those sleeves?! This sweet girl is so incredibly deeply loved and it shows! Grandma Karen reached out to me to capture the generations of her family and I am so honored to have been able to document their growing family for them while on vacation. I mean, what better way then on vacay right?

A few of my recent clients have asked me , “Does the time of day you shoot at the beach make that much of a difference?”
Heres my answer : The golden hour occurs from about half an hour before, until about an hour after sunrise in the morning, and then an hour before sunset, to about 20 to 30 minutes after the sun has gone down in the evening. When you shoot in this soft light the light is golden in colour and often changes colour from yellow, to orange to magenta.
-The light is soft, i.e. no major contrast such as hard shadows and very bright highlights.
-Colors are more exaggerated, the color of the light is far more emphasized, much more oranges, reds and magentas are visible in the scene.
It is for these reasons that photographers choose to shoot in the early morning or early evening, these times produce the most dramatic images.
Many of us were taught to shoot under bright sunlight, in the middle of the day, with the sun behind us. Sure, that can work, but you won’t get dramatic results every time, in many cases, your images will look very average. This is because light is harsh at this time of day.
So to many of you who are wondering, yes, the time of day can make a HUGE difference in the outcome of your photos.
These guys came all the way from Vegas to enjoy sunny Cali beaches, They were so excited to be here to soak up the sun and it was a great evening for family session with all that golden light shining. We shot their session at Shaw’s Cove, Laguna Beach to really capture the diversity of open sand + rocky shore with pools of salty water, pebbles and boulders. Just love this spot and these sweet families I get to meet along the way who travel from all over to visit where we live.

This sweet family invited me into their home to document their new little addition to the family . When I entered into this nursery that this mamma pieced together and designed for her little girl arriving , my jaw about dropped. For starters, every last detail was so intentional and the color palette was pretty much a photographers dream! Second, big brother Fin was super excited to show off his new little sister and definitely stole the show (in a good way) Every mamma wants their baby’s first ever room to be special and Nicole definitely nailed it ! I mean c’mon, look at that hand made bracelet with baby girls name spelt out, how stinkin cute & personal is that?!
The aesthetic of this nursery is honestly to die for and I couldn't stop swooning over it our entire session, clicking away on my camera.
